March 5, 2021

Dr Traj Nibber, CEO and Director of Research at AOR has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of nutritional science and supplementation. We have asked him for his expert opinion on a number of nutrients, to feature in our blog. We hope you enjoy these insights and overviews of some key nutrients.

Here he talks about magnesium orotate and why in some situations, this is the best form to use.

Magnesium plays an important role in not only helping with reduction of the blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels but also on the heart itself.

The heart is like any other muscle and needs proper care, exercise and nutrients for its optimal functioning. Like any muscle the cells require delivery of energy in the most expeditious manner.

Magnesium comes in many different salt forms but for the heart studies have shown that one of the best forms is magnesium orotate which is a unique and rarely used form of magnesium unlike the glycinate, malate and citrate forms.

Magnesium orotate is a rare and unique form of magnesium that science suggests can perform better in research than other forms.

Magnesium orotate was widely studied in the former Soviet Union where it was studied for helping patients with failing heart function but also athletes were given this form of magnesium for not only enhancing sports performance but recovery as well. Like any muscle after exertion there is time the muscle needs to recuperate and come back to its original rested state. Magnesium orotate salt form performed much better than other forms of magnesium.

Magnesium orotate is a safe form and well studied in human clinical studies.

Magnesium orotate is a safe and well studied form, used in many human studies.

AOR’s Cardio Mag 2.0 uses not only a fully reacted ( many are just a blend or a mixture of orotic acid and magnesium) magnesium orotate but also the correct dose to achieve optimal benefit of this unique supplement.
